And I don’t mean state of mind. (I’m probably only in my fourth state of mind.) We just rolled into Florida after starting in El Paso (the company flew me there to hook ip with my OTR trainer, Dudley), sliding through a sliver of New Mexico, traversing Louisiana and the heels of Mississippi and Alabama.
We spent night one at a teensy truck stop in Segovia, Texas, and night two in Hammond, Louisiana, where I had spent a year processing BP Oil Spill claims. I finally got to drive the last couple of hundred miles and toured one totally stuffed extra large truck stop before finding some openings at a small truck stop down the road at the next exit.
Slept like s#!+ the first night and the not so bad last night. Had my first truck stop shower in Houston (most welcome) and was able to connect with my wife for half an hour (only able to talk). She brought my official Class A CAL and some other goodies, chips. Cheetos, Tab, and some DVDs.
We expect to end up south of Orlando this evening and will head into Miami tomorrow with our load of prime beef.
Blogging is tough on the my DROID. Will do my best to supplement things if I can ever get network access for my laptop.
